[ he already knows what being left on read means at this point when it comes to vax.
upon arriving and seeing him there, percy gives him a nod in turn and approaches, finding his eyes tracking the tree itself for a long moment, its arching dead branches, its handless clock. there's something like familiarity in his eyes before he moves to have a seat down by the decrepit tree. ]
To water the tree won't be enough... though it'll certainly be a start.
I'd wish Keyleth were here, but this place is abysmal.

[ there's a silent relief here, that vax is with him in this terrible place, but there's an immediate sense of loss just as well. the rest of their party is... irreplaceable, night inseparable. as he watches vax shake his head, his brows remain knit. he nods quietly. ]
After.
[ his stomach is sick. he just looks downward at his bloody boots, or they would be bloody. the stains are black instead of crimson. inky. awful. ]
What do you mean "not like this." [ a deep frown. ] Come on, walk and talk... let's... not waste any time.

I spoke with the statue. I don't know why, they just
I suppose they had that familiar way about them. Not quite our Keyleth, just. The plants, I suppose were comforting. A reminder.
But they said it might be something worth pursuing, helping that tree.
We should work on gathering our strength of course, but I think putting a little of our strength into that tree once in a while might serve us well.

Yes, they were rather keen on feeding all of us... it was rather kind.
I've also spoken with Steel. I like them. They seem very keen on efficiency and competent in combat... I'll likely pay them a visit later.
What about you? Anyone else catch your eyes?

[ it wouldn't be, but percy would feel too much for her. imagine keyleth in such a dark place, no doubt trying to light it up with her presence alone. he stands there side by side with him a moment more before lifting his hand, placing it there against his shoulder. ]
Precisely. Now...
[ he glances down at his hands ] Let's start with water... and then perhaps think on whatever else we might be able to do after. Just... to get it all started.
I can create water so between the both of us we'll have, what, two cups? Not nearly enough for a tree but. I'm sure it won't complain considering how dead it is... [ not like they could have had keyleth talk to it since all their powers are so damn nerfed. ]

[ percy arrives on the roof with bottle in hand, and not just that, but glasses. he approaches and has a seat next to him. the air up here feels a touch clearer, and in that, percy finds just a little comfort as he holds the bottle out to vax, nudging him obnoxiously with it. uncork it with a knife or smth. ]

I thought it'd be tasteless, but... it's decent.
[ the means it's pretty good. percy waits and takes the bottle after, pouring some for himself and leaning back on a hand. ]
How have you settled in? You thrown a knife at your roommate yet? [ aka: who did they stick you with, i'm nosy? ]

Even stranger to happen without waking to one of your faces...
[ to wake up alone, he'd sat up, thought himself in that dark hell he found himself in once before. he just sort of makes a face at vax being avoidant about it all. ]
Vax.
What's the last thing you remember? [ his voice is tight, pressed. i won't accept a lie. stop dancing around it. ]
