it's not fine. vax'ildan, like everyone else, is fucking reeling from that nightmare - from watching that horrible transformation of what happened to their npcs to the sacrifice of being thrown backwards and saved by it, to the fact that there's no fucking way in. like everyone else, he's also tried to break down the fucking wall and force his way in, but the eye tattoo appearing on his hand is a fucking reminder of how powerless they are right now.
it's been too long. he jerks backwards, scrubs a hand over his face, feels just the bite of grief and misery and fury and then shakes his head, slumping back.
and it's when emet's going at it one more time that he reaches out and puts a hand on him, and says, quietly - ] Hades.
[he grits out, a hand pressed against that blocked entryway. feeling this powerless is-- well, it's not the first time here, but it's certainly the worst.
people always leave, he said. emet promised he would not. that he would be here for him.
separated from their residents now, that promise feels all too sharp.]
[ that's the thing - he has been. this whole time, trying to get in. that's what vax does, isn't it? gets into places they shouldn't go? but right now, there's nothing.
his voice is a little sharper than it should be, but it's not angry with him. ]
- It's not going to work. Remember what happened at the mountain. [ heaven forbid they gave dreamer more power. ] Least let's try and find another way.

[ vax reaches back and pulls his own hood up over his head, falling into step beside him without any trouble. he's got a feeling they're not going to be able to get in. ]

a little quieter, though no less steady; ] I'm with you. [ not just in location, but - in getting them back, too. he thinks of how happy riff was yesterday and just aches. ] Like fuck we're gonna let it end there.
[ he reaches up and claps him on the upper arm, firmly, sort of a jostle. can't reach the shoulder. ]

[ bass, riff, shale, steel - one last push. vax'ildan doesn't like the idea of sitting and waiting - he never has, he never will - but he can recognize their wishes, at least, in it. ] So when we go find Dreamer again, we come at him full strength. With - [ and for a moment, he has to think a little like emet. to be a solid foundation. it'll be funny, later, if things are okay. ] - with a fucking plan.
[ he nods. hopefully for the better - but he won't stray, if that's what it takes. ]
... I used my power this morning. Trying to see if I could get a hold of Ghost. [ which - he probably should've said something about, but, it's fine. ] ... There's no trace of the others left.
At least... not one that's over there. I'm starting to think maybe they might be with us the same way Dreamer is. Maybe not as strong, but they might be reinforcements.
