sometime during the day after the clowning, you can find vax with his back turned and at one of the puddles in the mansion, splashing water on his face and grumbling something unintelligible. ]
but you know what that's fine. vax rubs his arm across his wet face from where he's crouched over, and then makes a 'tch' noise when he pulls his hand away. nothing. he is still... clown. ]
...Yeah, well. Bathed in worse. [ gross ] Stay away from that carnival if you're still looking around.
we're hanging out in the mansion today! vax is... it looks like he's got a soup bowl with way too many of those zombie eyeballs in it. what is he doing.
... he plucks one up and aims... and then tosses it at an eyeless zombie, where it sticks in its forehead. nice. he spots yasusada while he's doing this and gives him a sup nod. ]
he takes the eyeball bowl (eyebowl?) and gives it a little shake in yams' direction. disgusting ] Pick your favorite. There's a couple eyeless ones. There, there... there.
[ vax points out a few different "Targets" - one of the zombies has no eyes at all. poor dude. ]
Yasusada is a sword, though, and doesn't care that much about getting dirty and being gross and whatnot, so he will carefully pick one up--and yes, eyeless zombie-san is the target of the day. Lucky him. Them? Them.
Ready, aim... FIRE!!! Or, y'know. Close enough. Yasusada's ability to aim is kind of intrinsic, but it's probably not as good as Vax's--also, he didn't wait for the zombie to turn around, so the eyeball lands and sticks to its temple.
[I'M ASSUMING THEY ARE BOTH IN THE MEDBAY AT SOME POINT anyway Yasusada's voice is definitely still pretty hoarse and he's got bandages on his throat and face now.]
[ there's obvious relief in vax's voice when he realizes that yasusada is conscious and not dead. seems like someone is a fussy bird. ] How're you feeling?
--It's probably telling, the way he pauses, wide-eyed. God, he hadn't even thought about what the rest of them had to deal with. He really is always like this, isn't he?
It's not... a bad feeling, exactly. He knows who he is, where his focus lies. But still. He nods, careful of his bandages.]
[Yasusada doesn't know Percy that well--but he's probably heard Vax speak of him by now, and if nothing else, he's seen the way they interact in public.
He looks away, and lowers his head. His hands curl into the fabric of his hakama; still dirty, but he doesn't care at all about that right now. All he can think of, over and over, is the fear he'd seen on the fake Kashuu's face. The sight of his blade shattering into little pieces; the same little pieces he's still got with him.
...It's not a tactful question, but Yasusada's not exactly known for his social grace, so. Softly--]
[ ... it doesn't have to be a tactful question, because maybe it's better to come at it head on.
vax looks down. by now, he's taken something off of his person and has his hand curled around a pendant shaped a bit like a raven's skull. he opens his fingers, and then closes them. ]
... yeah.
[ rough, just loud enough to be heard. ] He...
[ where does he evne start with this. ] ...'s not my story to tell, but it's not the first time something like that's happened to him. Not - not killing himself, but -
[ the fear. that terror, of being something you aren't, of being forced into it. it sends a chill down vax's spine even now. ] ... I thought I could get him to break free of it. I - my... my sister did, before. The first time.
