[ admittedly, his view on death is a little different than others. vax'ildan wasn't entirely sure that they'd be back alive, really - maybe just in limbo, maybe just waiting to be sent off to wherever their souls needed to go. so, it's heartening, to see them back for good - to know that death in this place as just as fucked as he's thought it was.
the softer laugh gets a fond smile. he ducks underneath the cranes, admiring the view. ]

[He turns to look at Vax at that, and for once his expression isn't self-deprecating or disbelieving. For once he doesn't think 'people care?' and try to close himself off.
