[he makes such a face, reaching up to shove lightly at vax. he feels a little flustered, emotionally speaking, but it doesn't show on his face-- he's not flushed.]
I have accepted your presence, yes, do not go and read into it overmuch.
[ DELIGHTED okay contrary to the thread with percy, emotionshare is great, actually? he laughs, wild and free, as he's shoved backwards. it's not at all effective, because he just comes back, grinning. ]
I'm not reading into it, I can feel it.
[ hey, well, vax is super obvious about his own emotions, but emet can pretty easily feel his, too. mutual affection, warmth, happiness, effusive joy. and the gremlin emotion. lots of that. just - a lot better. there's always a sort of sense of melancholy that follows vax around, but at the moment, it's almost negligible. ]
[huffed, almost reflexively. stop that. he knows very well it can't simply be turned off, but listen, sometimes you snap the first thing that comes to mind.
that affection, the warmth, the joy-- they're hard to ignore, once felt. it's so reminiscent of others he knows, who he's... well. much fonder of than he likes to admit.
[hm. his gaze sharpens, there. he stays right where he is for a moment.
had he his powers, he could teleport vax away with a snap of his fingers, but mundane times call for mundane measures.
also known as: abruptly moving to scoop him the fuck up so emet-selch can attempt to deposit him right back outside of simulations. he sits up and just attempts to scoop vax up along with him as he stands.]
[ SHWJKSHSH NOOOO HE'S IMMEDIATELY GRABBING ONTO THE TREE LIKE A CAT he is also still injured and like, hysterically laughing as this is happening so it is not very effective. ]
[okay. this time his face is slightly pink, along with the flustered feeling. where does vax keep all of those daggers and also the AUDACITY hidden, what the fuck!
he can definitely squirm free that way, while emet-selch is surprised.]
well, he never really knows when to quit so even when he's back on his feet, he just smiles at him, very cat-who-got-the-cream, very mischievous, very victorious. ]
[ vax stuffs his hands in his pockets. maybe notable, he's not wearing the deathwalkers ward today, instead rocking this sort of fit, though he's got a cloak over his shoulders instead of a leather jacket. he sticks out like a sore thumb in this place, but thats ok.
tilting his head up, up, to the spires, he puts a hand over his eyes as if to peer into the distance. ]
[he still doesn't know he's lacking in height... so it's all scaled to emet's current height, not to like 20 feet. it's still enough to make vax feel pretty small, though, yeah.]
Though to me, it tends to look something more like...
[since this is a simulation, he'll just adjust it, wandering to the door if he needs to--
and currents of sparkling light weave their way through the sky, the air, the land. the people walking the streets glow in soft color, in varied hues, and the sky now glitters with stars and magic both.]
Yeah, yeah. Big guys I know don't exactly know how to build cities like this.
[ goliaths and giants are not exactly the smartest people in the world. vax would know, he bullies grog for this all the time.
anyway, for as much as he's playing that off as lighthearted teasing as usual, when emet adjusts the simulation, it gets a reaction. a gasp, at first, surprised, and something close to awe fills the emotional space between them, as he tilts his head up to stare at the glimmer of magic and starlight overhead. vax has seen a lot of the world, but this is almost unreal. ]
...Shit. [ is his first response, blinking upwards, and then back at the softly glowing city. ]
... Colors're - those are souls, right? Isn't that what you can do?
So it is. This is the world through the lens of aetheric sight-- the currents of the Underworld, the souls of all living beings which possess one. What I should be able to see in those here.
[if they have souls but we're not talking about that part it's fiiiine]
So it is. I am not the only one gifted in the sight, far from it, but to see the color of a soul with such clarity... this is rarer.
[he's looking at vax, though, contemplating something. hmm.]
Hold still a moment longer.
[that lasts a few more moments, before he nods, and snaps his fingers with a little flash of pink-- copying heliotrope, as illusory light blooms at vax's chest.
it isn't blue, that he chooses. it starts that way, marine blue, and then it changes. it warms, passing into purple, tinged with red. further, into blood red and then a rich red-orange shade, warm and crisp like fall leaves, bright but with that tint of darker color to it. red like blood, longevity, but yellow like satisfaction and fond memory, both mixed together to form the appropriate shade.
emet-selch thinks this would suit him.]
Only a guess. But I have seen enough to have some idea.
well. vax's emotions do a little thing, there - surprise, at first, as he looks down at himself, fading into a sort of warmth that's harder to place. he watches, blue to red to this reddish orange, and the sight reminds of him of zephrah in the fall and someone's cloak, and he inhales, surprised, pressing his hand against his chest. ]
...Oh.
[ for maybe a second, he's stunned into silence, which is kind of rare. ]
...hha. 's - [ ... ] 's it weird to say I like it?
[ it's just so warm.
he'd like to be a warm person. sometimes, people like us aren't just meant to be happy.
no subject
[ vax, who wears all his emotions on his sleeve, lolls his head to look at emet, propping his head on his own arm. ] Just feelings. Everyone has em.
no subject
[there is, maybe, a touch of embarrassment along with the grumpiness here. the fondness has not gone anywhere.]
no subject
unfortunately
vax is a gremlin
and a gremlin with high emotional perception
he rolls over a little further, now half leaning over him, and grins, mischevious. ]
You like me.
no subject
[he makes such a face, reaching up to shove lightly at vax. he feels a little flustered, emotionally speaking, but it doesn't show on his face-- he's not flushed.]

maybe that's similar here, too.]
no subject
well.
smiling. challenging, voice a little lower: ]
Make me.

Hey, hey - ! Fuck! I was joking!
no subject
[he is, to his credit, trying to be careful. also: you started this, vax.]
no subject
Stop trying to drag me, then!
[ he will eventually relent though
congratulations on your arms full of vax i guess he just grins at him like the absolutely naughtiest cat in the entire world ]
no subject
Well. I do hope you have learned not to issue challenges you do not intend.
[vax absolutely has not, he's positive of this.]
no subject
[ and like, just to add to this completely ridiculous mood he leans right in and kisses him on the nose.
and then goes to try and squirm free again goodbye ]
no subject
[okay. this time his face is slightly pink, along with the flustered feeling. where does vax keep all of those daggers and also the AUDACITY hidden, what the fuck!

I swear, you are the most ridiculous--
no subject
well, he never really knows when to quit so even when he's back on his feet, he just smiles at him, very cat-who-got-the-cream, very mischievous, very victorious. ]
Yeah? You like that about me, though.
[ fucking awful ]
no subject
[he does. his emotions say it for him, a wash of exasperation mixed with fondness, familiarity.]
no subject
[ this is the best day ever
anyway, he will stop teasing too much, and instead he gestures out around this simulation. ] Show me around. This is where you live, yeah?
no subject
but he turns his attention to the city, then, with-- a sense of comforting familiarity. home. belonging.]
So it is. Amaurot, the jewel of Etheirys-- our capital.
no subject
tilting his head up, up, to the spires, he puts a hand over his eyes as if to peer into the distance. ]
Place's huge. Kinda makes me feel like an ant.
[ everyone is massive also ] Pretty, though.

But you can't, here, huh? Sucks. Must be nice, to be able to see things like this all the time.
