...Shale did say that even when Kazuma realized what happened, when we voted for him, or whatever, it didn't fix it entirely. They described it as "his colors were still off", even after, but they said the vote helped.

I do not know that they are necessarily related, but I do have a suspicion they come from one of us. The message I received mentioned the third being an outlier, and we assumed this referred to the dreams... but there were in fact four. Ruby simply did not mention her dream the previous week. Were this from an external influence, surely it would have known-- but instead the message came from what we believed to be true.

Given the way the footprints went together to the grave-- Kazunari may well have seemed nonthreatening, up until the point where he proved otherwise. Lured him to a location where it would be easy to get him into the grave alone afterward. All that aside, if you were assisting someone in murder why would only one of you bother to wear different clothes? Kumon could have avoided finding more, but then why help find any at all?
Just because Kazunari was influence, doesn't mean Kumon was... it may have just been the guilt. He's a gentle one. Perhaps in a way he thought he had no choice but to bring the clothing back to us as Ruby was with him.
[ a frown ] Though I admit, you're certainly right. To only use one costume. Granted, oil's a terrible thing to get on your clothing to begin with. Maybe it was to make certain not a trace was left on the one that had to do the dirty work.
