[ at some point on saturday afternoon, vax is sitting by one of the puddles in the mansion. his hood is over his head, and he's muttering to himself, and splashing some of that nasty gray water on his face.

what could it be. . . ]

[petalbursts]

[ how curious! ruby walks over and kneels down, tilting her head to the side.]

Vax? Is everything okay?

w0, thursday

[petalbursts]

[ at some point in the evening vax will receive a text from ruby. ]

vax!!!!!!!!!

[ a few minutes later. ]

meet me at the ferris wheel or you're a big nerd!!😋

[daggering]

[ this is so many exclamation points. vax uses voice to text almost always so she doesn't get an immediate reply back except: ]

[ wow

anyway!!! give it like five minutes, and vax is approaching! he's got his hands in his pockets and is still looking somewhat warily around like clowns might just happen again, though when he spots ruby he gives her a sup nod and trots over. ]

Rubes. [ yo ]

w1, thursday evening

[ well that was A LOT. and ruby is back in medbay, this time here to check on vax. ]

Vax...

[ she spots him laying in a bed and walks over, frowning at the state of him, even if he's gotten some attention, he still looks like he went through hell. hateful. ]

I'm...I'm really glad you made it back.

[daggering]

[ that sure fucking was a lot im sorry i missed our teacups for this

anyway here is vax! his injuries are (waves hand) while i wait on my medbay comment, but he is alive and at least breathing, and for ruby, who looks so sad, he manages a little smile. ]

...Course I did. Can't kill me that easy. Did you hold the fort up alright...?

week 1, sat.

[daggering]

[ vax is.. in the medbay! he's let some of the others go first in terms of healing pod, so he's sort of stuck here, biding his time in a bed. hood pulled up over his head, he's not expecting any visitors immediately, so - he looks a little surprised, to see ruby.

he's quieter than usual, maybe, and tips his head in her direction. ]

...hey, Rubes.

[petalbursts]

[ here she is! she was just peeking into see, fully expecting him to be in the pod already, but seeing that he's not she's coming over.

gives a small wave back, stopping next to the bed. ]

Hey, Vax...

[ there's a brief pause, before she squats down next to him and just lays her head on the bed. she's silent for a second, but then lets out a shaky breath. ]

...I hate this, so much...

week 2, monday

[daggering]

[ well wherever ruby is...

someone is sneaking up behind her. sneaky... sneaky....

and then just hugs her from behind out of nowhere!!! and lifting her a little off the ground!! ] Gotcha.

[ heh ]

[petalbursts]

[ she has been really enjoying this party city. so many aisles of colors and different things. ridiculous costumes.

she's staring at party favors, are those mints in the shape of little bowties? how cute.

then she's up in the air, feet doing little kicks, as she is caught off guard. ]

WAH!!! [ takes her a second of flailing to realize who it is. ]

Vax!?! You scared me! [ turns her head to look at him, she's pouting, but it quickly turns into a smile upon seeing him. ] You're so sneaky!!

week 2, sat

[daggering]

[ vax is up on the roof this fine evening. he's sitting on the railing of the rooftop, almost perching, his hood pulled up over his head. you'd maybe only be able to tell it's him from his posture and the feathers.

...he's not hiding, necessarily, though, so. company's welcome. ]

[petalbursts]

[ she will join him in sitting on the railing.

bumps their shoulders together lightly. ]

w3, tuesday 1/2

[ ruby is ushering vax around the music store, though it looks more like she's dragging him by the arm, but she's just excited! she actually has these back home and the idea of finding music from her home is just!!! ]

When we're done looking through songs from my home, I definitely want to hear some from yours!!

[ she's still got him by the arm, while her free hand holds up a cd with her own face on it. huh...weird.

but what's even stranger is the bubble that appears and approaches them fast. ]

Haven't these bubbles been causing everyone problems??

[ yes. yes they have. and once the bubble has encased them, of course she presses her hand against. and there's a splash of color... ]

[ the first thing you see is your sister.

she looks distant...like her mind is off somewhere else. the last thing you remember is seeing her laying on the ground, next to Blake, right arm messily bandaged up or what was left of it. what happened...a lot, so much happened that day. the day Beacon tower fell...

you call out her to her(28:20-30:20).

and that was the last day you saw her.

you left a note before you took off, dad told you there was no point in going after answers. told you your uncle and others were already on the case, you just needed to stay put. but you didn't listen.

you think of them, often. about dad and Yang, your uncle, and the ones you lost that day...you always think about them. you wonder if they're proud of you and if they'd approve of what you're doing. this is why you write letters.

as your journey turns into weeks and into months, you can't help but think about your sister. how is she doing? does she ever leave her room? has she started training again? she is so strong, there's no way she'd let this stop her...she's the strongest person you know.

there are some hard battles, along the way, and you imagine what it'd be like if she was here. things would be so much easier, wouldn't they be...at least you have uncle Qrow here with you now.

there is a moment of uncertainty. a moment of near loss...Qrow is wounded, poisoned, and it's spreading fast. what do you do! what can you do...

you fight. you fight and you win. you get help and you make it to Haven. everyone is safe.

you're all safe and sound within the walls of Mistral. Qrow is healing and you...you think about everything you've been through since leaving home. but really not a day as gone by that you didn't. so you sit down and you put pen to paper, hoping and praying that these letters make it home(:58-7:36).
you've been at Haven for a few days now, having gotten to talk to the headmaster here, and learned many new things. you even have a new friend! he's good people and you value him as a member of the team, now. what would Yang think of him?

Qrow said he'd be bringing guests, though he didn't say how many, so with the help of Jaune, Ren and Nora, you put together a ton of food! you're not the greatest cook, easily distracted, which Ren points out. but it's fine! because Qrow is back with company! a perfect time for some tea.

this is a reunion. ]

[ she gives it some time. a few hours after everyone has moved on for the night.

and then she goes to the rooftop.

she doesn't say anything. she just quietly walks up next to him, on the railing, and stands there. looking out at the nighttime landscape of the prism.]

[daggering]

[ he's there!!! vax is very, very still, and very quiet. he's got his legs hanging over the edge of the railing, one propped up on the rail.

... it's a long time, before he says anything. ]

... 'ssit, Rubes?

[ vax's voice just sounds wrecked. ]

[ she's given it some time, after everything that happened, so here she is.

where ever vax is, she's finding him and walking over. seeing him here definitely puts her at ease, at least she knows he'll be taken care of. ]

Vax?

[daggering]

[ vax is in the medbay! he's behaving himself. he hasn't spent a ton of time in the pod yet, but he's at least stable, if not just fucking exhausted.

exhausted or not, though, hes got a smile for ruby. ]

Hey, Rubes. p so, so much better than yesterday. ] You alright?

[daggering]

[ after the body announcement vax is... up on the roof! he's got his cloak wrapped around him and the hood up at the moment, and his nose looks a little red.

... when he sees ruby, he hops up. ] Rubes, hey. Y'don't feel weirdly cold, do you?

[petalbursts]

[ she tilts her head to the side, coming up next to him. ]

Weirdly cold? [ she thinks for a second. ] I don't think so, but it looks like you do. Are you okay?

week 4, sunday

[daggering]

[ vax spent his immediate time with vin after the execution, but the minute he gets the chance to, he's gonna come find ruby, so.

up on the rooftop, ruby will feel from behind her, something warm - vax's cloak, a soft, gray material, coming to wrap around her shoulders, and the gentle warmth of concern and sorrow in his emotions. ]

[petalbursts]

[ she only flinches a little, before reaching up to grip at the fabric.

turning around to look up at him with sadness on her face. there's a pause, before she just steps forward and face plants into him. ]

ruby is fresh out of the pod, laying on one of the cots! arm stump bandaged up real nice, her other wounds as well, only slowly bleeding now.

she looks exhausted, but she does look up to vax, offering a small smile.

it's - really good, to see ruby conscious, but what a fucking exhausting day. vin went off to wash her face or something, so vax pushes off of the wall and comes over to join ruby, relief blatant all over his face.

behind him, his feathery wings are looking a little...melty, oil slick drops drooping on the ground, but he doesn't pay it any mind as he comes over and smooths a hand over ruby's head to push her bangs back, and then kisses her forehead. ]

How're you feeling, Rubes...?

[ dragging vax here, with her one arm. ruby looks very excited, bring him over to one of the booths, where she's already picked out a basket of props. ]

I thought this would be fun! It takes fancy pictures and then you can decorate them after.

[ gives him a quick little tour of everything. ]

[ oh... wait a minute, this is stirring a Memory ]

...this is that thing Chichi was talking about. Purik.... something. Yeah? [ the stickers!!! he remembers!!! ] She said you should put them on your phone.

weird. he's sitting at a table, with some papers in front of him, busily writing something. ]

ruby comes and sits across from him, setting down a small stack of books.

throwing an arm around ruby's shoulders when he sees her later in the night and tugging her in

ruby comes up and hops onto the railing, leaning against vax. ]

[ there she goes!! vax has a smile for ruby when she hops up, affectionate, and reaches out to ruffle her hair. ]
